Please browse the sample safari packages below.  You can choose one of these exact packages, or use them as a guide to help create a custom trip.   There are certainly many more trip options and destinations to explore, but these are some of the most popular and accessible trips.   Any place it refers to the accommodation, you will choose whether you want budget, moderate, or luxury.   Also, any place where it says something is optional, it is obviously something you can discuss with us if you pick that package.

sample trips32 Day Murchison Falls Trip

Day 1

Early morning departure from Kampala.  Lunch in Masindi.  Enter the park and reach the Nile River for an afternoon boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls.  You should see crocodiles, hippos, exotic birds, and possibly even elephants and other animals.  After, check-in to your accommodation, have dinner, and relax.

Day 2

This day starts with an early morning game drive, where you will search for the various wildlife of the park, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, water buffalo, elands, bush buck, kobs, hippos, and a variety of monkeys.  This day boasts a majestic expression of an African safari.  When finished, cross on the ferry, then drive through the Budongo forest as you exit the part.  Lunch en route as you return to Kampala in the evening.

 

3 Days, 2 Nights Murchison Falls Trip 

Day 1 

Early morning departure from Kampala.  (inquire about optional stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary) Lunch in Masindi on the way.  When you reach the park, do a short game drive (time permitting).  Check-in and dinner at accommodation.

Day 2

This day starts with an early morning game drive, where you will search for the various wildlife of the park, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, water buffalo, elands, bush buck, kobs, wart hogs, hippos, and a variety of monkees.  This day boasts a majestic expression of an African safari.  Lunch in the park, as you rest and anticipate your afternoon boat trip up the mighty Nile River to the bottom of Murchison Falls.  On the trip, you should see crocodiles, hippos, exotic birds, and possibly even elephants and other animals.  You can return to the boat launch and meet your driver, or there is an optional choice where you can exit the boat at the bottom of the falls and hike (with a guide) to the top of the falls, where you will meet your driver.  Return to accommodation for dinner and rest after a long, but rewarding, day.

Day 3

After breakfast, if time permits and you did not do the optional hike, drive to the top of Murchison Falls as you leave the park.  Drive through Budongo Forest and exit.  Lunch en route to Kampala and arrive late afternoon.

 

4 Days, 3 Nights Murchison Falls with Chimpanzee Tracking at Budongo Forest

Day 1

After breakfast, drive to the top of Murchison Falls, where the 150 meter wide Nile gushes into a narrow gorge of only 6 meters and then fiercely drops 40 feet.  Lunch at Pabidi, from where you will begin your exciting afternoon of chimp tracking.  Find chimps in their natural environment.  Observe, take pictures, and enjoy an experience you cannot get many other places in the world.  Dinner and lodging either Eco-lodge in Budongo or at your choice of accommodations in Masindi town (outside of the park).  

Day 4

Head out in the morning, take an optional time at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.  Lunch en route to Kampala with return depending on your options for the day.

 

2 Day Kibale Forest for Chimpanzee Tracking (can also be merged with a 3 Day Murchison trip to equal 5 days)

Day 1

Early departure from Kampala. Drive through tea plantations and take lunch en route.  Reach Kibale in time for the Bigodi Swamp Walk.  Dinner at accommodation.  Optional Nocturnal Forest walk in search of otherwise unseen forest creatures.

Day 2

After early breakfast, go for chimp tracking, lasting approximately 4 hours.  When finished with this incredible experience, depart the forest.  Lunch en route to Kampala, reaching in the evening.

 

sample trips13 Day Queen Elizabeth Trip (can merge with a 1 day Lake Mburo trip to equal 4 days)

Day 1

Early departure from Kampala, driving through banana territory.  Stop at the Equator for pictures and a break.  Have lunch in Mbarara.  Continue the journey and enjoy the beautiful scenery until you reach Queen.  Check in an dinner at your accommodation.  Optional short evening game drive depending on time.

Day 2

Early morning game drive through the savannah land.  Here, amid the scenic beauty, expect to probably see lions, elephants, water buffalo, wart hogs, kobs, bush buck, variety of monkeys, exotic birds, and hopefully even a leopard and hyenas.  Birders will be happy with the hundreds of bird species living in the park.  Lunch and prep for the afternoon boat trip on the famous Kazinga Channel that connects lake Edward and George.  You should see many hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and exotic birds.  Dinner and rest at your accommodation.

Day 3

After breakfast, begin the return trip to Kampala.  Relax on the drive as you continue to soak in the unique Ugandan landscape.  Stop for lunch en route and reach early evening. 

 

2 Day Lake Mburo (can be added as 1 extra day to a Queen Elizabeth Trip)

Day 1

Early departure from Kampala.  Reach the park by lunch time, so you can check in and eat at your accommodation.  Take the afternoon boat trip on the Lake, viewing hippos, birds, and possibly other animals.  Optional later afternoon nature walk with guide.  Dinner and rest at accommodation.

Day 2

Early morning game drive through the serene lands surrounding the Lake, where you should observe zebras, impalas, elands, water buffalo, wart hogs, and other animals and birds.  Optional horse-back riding safari instead of vehicle game drive.  Depart the park and have lunch en route to Kampala, reaching late afternoon or early evening.

 

sample trips57 Day Bwindi for Gorillas, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks

DAY 1 

Leave Kampala early in the morning.  Drive through the beautiful countryside, crosing the equator and having lunch in Mbarara.  Reach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park late in the afternoon. Check in to your accommodation. Dinner and rest.

DAY 2 

This is the big day for gorilla tracking.  After breakfast, head off to the park headquarters for a briefing and orientation about the tracking by the Uganda Wildlife Rangers who will then take you into the forest to look for the great apes.  You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas when found.  the whole hike may take 4-6 hours.  You will have lunch  in the forest and then return to park headquarters.  Dinner at your accommodation.  This is the experience you will never forget. 

DAY 3

Early breakfast and head to Queen Elizabeth National park.  Lunch enroute and check in to your accommodation late in the afternoon.  Dinner and relax. 

DAY 4 

After breakfast, a sunrise  game drive through the savannah land is awesome.  Here, amid the scenic beauty, expect to probably see lions, elephants, water buffalo, wart hogs, kobs, bush buck, variety of monkeys, exotic birds, and hopefully even a leopard and hyenas.  Birders will be happy with the hundreds of bird species living in the park.  Then, lunch and prepare for the afternoon boat trip on the famous Kazinga Channel that connects lake Edward and George.  You should see many hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and exotic birds.  Dinner and rest at your accommodation.

After breakfast you head off to Kyambura Gorge for Chimpanzee tracking.  Tracking in this area is a bit easy.  You will hike with a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger to look for the Chimpanzees.  Return for lunch at your accommodation and relax in the afternoon.  Then go for an evening gamedrive where there are high chances of seeing lions and leopards.  Dinner and rest at your accommodation.

DAY 6 

After breakfast, we move to Lake Mburo National Park.  Arrive in time for lunch at the park and check in at your accommodation.  Afterwards, enjoy the afternoon boat trip on the Lake, where a lot of  hippos, birds, nd maybe other wildlife will be seen.  Then, take a lovely nature walk with a ranger, giving you a close look at zebras, antelopes, and others.  Dinner and rest t your accommodation.  Optional horse-riding safari instead. 

DAY 7  

The morning gamedrive after an early breakfast is fabulous.  Closely observe zebras, water buffalo, kobs, bushbuck, warthogs, and other wildlife.  Depart and head back to Kampla.  have lunch en route.  Stop at the equator for photos.  If time allows, stop at Mpambire drum village where you can observe Buganda royal drum makers - and even  buy a few if you like.  Arrive in  Kampala late in the afternoon for dinner and resting at your accommodation reminiscing on on of the most incredible weeks of your life!

3 Day Bwindi Impenetrable for Gorilla Trekking (Or 4 Days with Lake Mburo NP)

DAY 1 

Early moning departure for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  Eat lunch along the way in Mbarara. There is a lot to see during the journey - like the equator, drum village, tea plantations, beautiful terrace farming.  Arrive late afternoon and check in at your accommodation.  Dinner and rest at.

DAY 2 

Early morning breakfast and head off to the Bwindi Forest National Park Headquarters for mountain gorilla tracking briefing and orientation by the Uganda Wildlife rangers.  Then, your trek begins to find and meet the gorillas.  Bwindi is home to half the world’s endangered, yet powerful, gorillas.  You may hike for a few hours.  You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas.  Overall, the adventure old last 4-6 hours.  Afterwards, you return to the headquarters then back to your lodge.  Dinner and rest.

DAY 3 

After breakfast, check out and head back to Kampala.  Stop for lunch and breaks where needed, after which you continue to Kampala, returning late in the afternoon.  (Or, stay at Lake Mburo and return next day to Kampala. See Lake Mburo trip for details.)
